Horn of Hope Vision for Peace and Community Development in Nigeria.(HOHVIPAD)

1. BRIEF HISTORY OF HOHVIPAD

Horn of Hope Vision for Peace and Development of Nigeria (HOHVIPAD) has been in existence for, well over a decade-since 2005.  A small group of burdened people with Christ-like love, within our local Church Community- Our Father’s House and Ministry International Yola, the Adamawa State Capital, became obsessed with and began to respond positively to various pressing needs among the low income people, widows, the sick, indigent pupils and students. HOHVIPAD then helped to reach out to indigent Pupils and Students with Scholarship offers, supported several widows, the sick, HIV and Aids Patients and the less privileged within specific local Communities in Adamawa State . In January 2015, the Church began discussions on the need to officially register HOHVIPAD as a Non – Governmental Organization (NGO).

2. OFFICIAL REGISTRATION AND STATUS

Horn of Hope Vision for Peace and Community Development of Nigeria was officially registered by the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission,(CAC) Abuja, on 24th of April 2015, with reference No: CAC/IT/77261. HOHVIPAD also has an international reference No: DUNS NO. 561 213 193 By its official registration, the organization is and could be called Horn of Hope, with the acronym HOHVIPAD

(b)  A Faith- Based Organization. Though HOHVIPAD is a faith- based organization, it has all the advantages of also serving as a Community-Based-Organization (CBO). One obvious peculiarity of HOHVIPAD is that it is a multi-sectorial organization with  a commendable network and relationship with key leadership of other faiths.

To identify and provide support for the less privileged and under-served local Communities in-order to alleviate suffering and restore human dignity.

To restore human dignity, hope and well-being of the less privileged and under-served communities by reducing to the barest minimum, incidences of violence, vicious circle of poverty, sickness and suffering.

  • To identify, mobilize and provide impactful help and support towards a peaceful co-existence  in local communities.

  • To create access to formal and non- formal Education  to  out of School and indigent children in local communities.

  • To support Community health and hygiene issues, create awareness against Gender based violence, provide livelihood to widows, orphaned and vulnerable children (OVCs)
